About Me
Michelle Crowell (she/her) is a Franco-American writer and educator living in Nantes. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, her childhood revealed intense allergies to hay rides, pollen, cats, and organized religion.
Over the years, she has participated in writing workshops under the instruction of writers such as Lan Samantha Chang (Paris Writers’ Workshop), Whitney Terrell (an MFA-level Creative Writing course at UMKC), and more. She is now seeking representation for her memoir about growing up in the Bible Belt, and hard at work on a genderqueer sci-fi/fantasy YA novel.
Currently pursuing a PhD in American Literature, Michelle has a Master’s in General and Comparative Literature from the Sorbonne, and was ranked sixth at the agrégation, the competitive nationwide exams for secondary teachers in France. In her past experience, she wrote articles in English and French as a Content Manager at IÉSEG School of Management.
